First responders from the Baltimore County Fire Department were called at around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 to the 2100 block of Old Frederick Road in Catonsville, when a man found himself in a perilous position after suffering injuries falling into the well on an area property.

A team of firefighters used all of the tools at their disposal to rescue the man, who was hoisted out of the well and back onto solid ground at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, the well was unused and the man fell in when the ground covering it collapsed.

The man was treated and taken to an area hospital for evaluation of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
